Bowel Cancer affects the large bowel and the rectum, which are the lower parts of our digestive system. The exact cause of colorectal cancer is unknown but people who have a family history of the disease come under the high-risk category of developing bowel cancer. The large bowel, also called the colon, is the last section of your digestive system. Food passes through your small bowel (the longer, thinner part of your bowel) where nutrients are absorbed. Research also shows that a diet high in olive oil protects against bowel cancer.
This tumor can either be non-cancerous or cancerous and usually requires early detection for doctors to halt the growth from non-cancerous to cancerous. Risk factors in getting small bowel cancer encompass inherited and ecological aspects. Obesity has been linked to bowel cancer. It has also been found that people who are obese are less likely to get an accurate diagnosis with a colonoscopy due to the increased difficulty in cleaning out the bowel sufficiently for a clear picture. A pain in the back passage is fairly unusual and should be checked. Maybe over a period of time, they could return these patients to a normal rate of cell reproduction, thereby eliminating the risk of polyps forming and preventing that specific type of bowel cancer developing.
If you have the slightest thoughts that you may have symptoms of bowel cancer (colon cancer) go and see your doctor and have that colonoscopy, with a blank look on your face if need be. Some bowel cancer symptoms may be a bit odd in comparison, and almost unrelated. They are, however, an ever greater cause for concern because it means that the disease is most likely spreading.
