Sciatica During Pregnancy

Sciatica during pregnancy is a common occurrence. Sciatica affects millions of people worldwide. It is a condition that commonly occurs as a result of a pinched sciatic nerve. This growth or extra weight brings pressure to bear on the sciatic nerve which runs all the way from your lower back to your legs passing through your buttocks. One of such things is avoiding the intake of over the counter medication popularly known as non steroidal anti inflammation drugs (NSAIDs). While these drugs are effective ways to relieve your sciatic nerve pain (no doubt), they are not healthy for your baby.

Remember that you are carrying a growing baby inside of you and that extra weight will be put to bear on your back, so if you "pre" prepare for that inevitable occurrence, you will stand a better chance of avoiding sciatica in the first place. Sciatica can be characterized by the following symptoms; shooting pains, burning sensations in the lower region of your body, chronic pain, back pain, chronic inflammation, back aches, psychological effects of acute nerve irritation, weakness, a tingling sensation, and numbness, among others. It starts around the lower back and runs through to the leg passing through the buttocks. Sometimes the surrounding muscles become inflamed causing the sciatic nerve to become pinched; this is what causes the sciatic pain you feel.
