Visualisation Meditation

Scientists and doctors study meditation and recommend it. Meditation is now proven to be more than just a 'warm and fuzzy' feeling. So there are many reasons why people begin to meditate. Some learn meditation to become more relaxed, for improvement in health, to reduce stress, for clearer thinking, to become more creative, to sleep better and to improve mental strength. Expert meditators swear that doing it regularly, using the right meditation technique, leads to a higher state of consciousness. They say meditation gives you better focus, sharper concentration, and increased awareness, plus a healthier positive outlook.

Perceiving the bright white colour, experience through auto-suggestion that all your passions & emotions are being pacified. All your excitations are subsiding. Your anger is waning away. In this exercise we want to be very conscious of our incoming and outgoing breathe. This gives us something to focus on; it is a prop for the mind as it tries to detach from its usual run of the mill thoughts. Some people find that visualisation exercises very helpful for creating a meditative consciousness and detaching from mundane thoughts. Visualisation is powerful because we imagine what meditation would be like. We have all heard the saying- Practice makes perfect. By developing a meditation habit through a regular committed practice we are developing behaviours which benefit our health and wellbeing.

When visualising, it helps to behave as if the movie in your mind is actually real and is happening right now in this reality and not another time in the near future. Forget that it's just a vision and become it. The idea of using meditation to relax the muscles and calm the mind has long been used in counselling procedures, and with an increase in the amount of stress and chaos of our modern daily lives, these techniques have been shown to have a dramatic effect. The challenge is to stay focused on the meditation process. Meditation requires letting go. Once you have developed the process it becomes easier to go to the state of meditation. We are all able to spontaneously meditate from time to time - but if we want the benefits that can come from meditation then we need to do it regularly.

With regular practice, such a weight loss visualisation can be a very powerful way of changing your self-image, which in turn helps to eliminate self sabotaging behaviours, makes you feel better about yourself, and makes it easier to adopt a healthy lifestyle without having to force yourself to do so using willpower alone. Meditation is the perfect process for releasing negative energies, reducing stress and creating a more focused and peaceful mind - a mind conducive to self-transformation. Mediation is a way of clearing your old thought patterns, and trying to connect with your subconscious mind. You can simply find a quiet place inside or out doors, some people find soothing music helps put them into a meditative type trance where they 'zone out' of the rush of modern day living.
